Gozzard 36- New owner questions

My wife and I have just bought a 1988 Gozzard 36.

We have some questions regarding the boat. Like:

How does the cockpit table ( now in pieces ) assemble

Tank sizes?

Under which winch is the fuel sending unit?

Looking for a running rigging diameter and length chart.

Is anyone using the Gozzard Dinghy to cruise with.

Miles per day average.

Anything we should know about the boat?

Would appreciate any feedback with direct Gozzard 36 experience.

We are in the Houston Texas area.

Thanks - Jim and Karen

Re: Gozzard 36- New owner questions

Sounds like all questions could be answered by the PO. If not possible, you could call Gozzard at 519-524-6393. Mike can probably answer all questions. He might be busy right now though, he is busy getting a boat read for the Annapolis Boat Show.

Re: Gozzard 36- New owner questions

Mike Gozzard has been very helpful but I hate to wear him out over a 1988 boat.

I am embarased to admit that I don't know what a "PO" is. The two things that come to mind don't seem to apply)

WADR, have you tried a Google search? I get flamed sometimes for suggesting this, but you can find out a lot that way. Why? 'Cuz sometimes even if there is an owner with your boat who is willing to share, he may not have seen your post or may be out sailing. There are often owners associations, too, which Google could find.

Good luck.

Stu - fewer than 100 G-36s were made and the only ones on www I see are with brokers. The owners are not listed. Thanks for the suggestion.

Often the word before "previous owner" is a derogatory epithet. As in "The F@#$% previous owner installed the Y valve incorrectly" (I said that exact phrase once)

Many many boat owners do not speak well of this "Previous Owner" individual.

But that may be different on a Gozzard. Pretty boat. The dolphins on the rails are totally cool.

The idea is not to find YOUR previous owner but some other who has gone public with an issue. Maybe there is a prolific blogger with a G36. Maybe there is a video guy who posts his G36 experiences on youtube. You would be amazed how much boat maintenance stuff is on youtube.

They were also called a Bayfield 36.

Re: Gozzard 36- New owner questions

If you do Facebook there's a private site, Gozzard World Cruisers you can join. It's relatively new but there are a lot of helpful owners to ask.
