Catalina 36 owners

Do you sleep in the V or aft berth? We laid down in the aft and felt very confined, both in the MKI and MKII. Do you get used to it with time?
Thanks

It's your boat, your choice. Matters little what other people do. And until you know how big they are, it's an open ended question.

These guys should be able to help with this more boat-specific question:

Our boats are quite similar. We use the V berth, aft is the "garage."

I alternate from the v berth to the aft berth. I had the cushion across the walkway into the aft berth so I could sleep sideways. Made the aft berth less confining. But somebody still has to climb over the other person to get in or out.

The wife and I live on our 1984 Catalina 36 for six months while the C-470 was being built.

We sleep in the V-Berth... Easier for us to get in and out of.

I think it will come down to a personal preference.

I think you'll find the quarter berth a lot cozier while you are sailing.

Why not sleep in the salon? If it's just you and the wife. Ours is a 97. Dining table insert with cushions turns the space into a king size bed.

A good mate of mine who single hands sleeps in the salon, and we did the same in my O'day 34. Easier to get outside, we had a TV in the salon we could watch, and also a lot more airflow in warmer climates.
