Re: Boat manufacturer/model???

Not sure, but Im interested.. A beauty.

Bump.

I was in Bimini last fall and boat that looked very very similar broke their rudder off when going aground on the sand bar in some small swell on the way in. I dove the boat for the owner- a very nice young lady. The rudder seam/halves lamination and its overall composite construction schedule were downright pathetic: less than a half inch bonding surface and no laps over the seam, only a half frame with butt joint welds, total laminate thickness less than 3/16". Also, everything on the boat was electric: winches, furler, head- no solar that I remember..
Obviously their entire cruising season was destroyed rather quickly. But the boat had the same cockpit arrangement. With the U seat and small pilot house, rear wheel. I will ask my wife if she can remember the name of the builder.

Where was that picture taken?

Re: Boat manufacturer/model???

Something about the picture makes me think Canary Islands (maybe Parma) or Panama - absence of a mast suggests that she is not going anywhere, anytime soon. Those pilot house windows say old Wauquiez or Tayana to me but I reckon I would be happy if even one of my suppositions was in the ballpark...

Re: Boat manufacturer/model???

Congratulations. I should have had the courage of my convictions and searched boats in the Canaries...

Re: Boat manufacturer/model???

The cockpit/transom of the boat almost looks like a Hanse however I know they don't make a pilothouse/decksalon in this fashion. Seems like quite the one-off design. I like it a lot.

Re: Boat manufacturer/model???

This is the one in las palmas. Her mast is on dry in the vela latina basin.

It is an alloy hull, likely made in Italy or elsewhere in the med as one off.

You buying it?

I can get you more info by asking around.
