Re: Any C&C redwing 30 owners here

Im thinking of selling my mooring to fund a new inboard , and living on ancour , thats a bit of a toss up right now , a year on the dock , owning a mooring or a new inboard are all about the same price .... i have a good ancour so the inboard is tempting , but the mooring is nice security

If you spend most your time at mooring, keep it. You shouldn't have to choose between a mooring and an inboard. Stay at the mooring til you fix your engine.

Re: Any C&C redwing 30 owners here

I have a 1968 Red Wing hull number 39. I am trying to refurbish the poor thing right now. I got some photos from tigerzilly that are helping me a lot. The weather here is so bad the last few months and health issues have kept me from the boat. Come spring I hope to finish the wiring and then start correcting leaks that keep popping up. I'm pretty sure most are from the stanchions. PO just poured glue around the edges trying the stop the leaks.

Good luck with your boats and let me know anything you think might help me.

I have minor leaks from my chainplates as well im waiting till spring to dig out any rot and fiberglass them in , i have decent deck rot becuse my decks are plywood , but iv already fixed some so i know what im doig , my advice is wait till the weather is perfect , if u try to correct a leak while its rainjng its goin to look and work horible. Its best to do it right the first time then to have to redo it over and over

I'm located in NY state in the Hudson Valley. I keep my boat in eastern CT over the sailing season. Vancouver Island must be a great place to be!

Marine epoxy will be your best friend. I took the wholesale approach rather piecemeal. You need the time and a good place to work. I was able to get most of my work done over a winter. Now the boat is serving me well and is dry inside. I posted most of the work I did on this blog:
