Crew Wanted: Crew West Palm Beach to Newport RI

Beautiful Vagabond Ketch relocating to Newport RI looking for a crew person with blue water experience for I month trip from West Palm Beach. Leaving last week of May. Must have experience and be able to stand a night watch. This is a shared expenses trip. Maybe participate in the Chesapeake rally, Essex rally and New England rally with SSCA and OCC.

Shared expenses for food, drink, entertainment. I take care of boat expenses.

There are a lot of ways to do the expenses. If someone does not like the deal then move on to the next ad.

(Warning rant ahead)
Having said that I have made a stink about it in one situation. My background is in Tall ships. On a tall ship some of the positions require a license. So if I see a request for volunteer crew for a licensed position I will not let that go. To get a license you have years tied up in low to no pay jobs building your sea time. Then by the time you pay for a STCW/BST class and a class to help you pass the test and a physical and a TWICK card etc. etc. You will have $2000 in it. You can't do that working for free.

But to be clear that is not what this guy it asking for ....

We'll not totally true, you can if you derive income from alternative sources and simply enjoy crewing for free for the experience.

(Side note I have all that stuff and the silly twick card and still would drive a big girl (boat that is honey) for a nice dinner and a warm bunk, then again I'm a bit of a boat fluzy)

Let me "splain" something. YOU want crew to help YOU. At the very least, YOU should pay all trip expenses, plus pay for them to get home. Hope this helps.
