Crew wanted West Palm Beach to Bahamas

About the middle of January, I'll be sailing my Tartan 37 from West Palm Beach to the Abacos in the Bahamas. I've made this crossing seven times.

I'm seeking non-smoking crew to help. You don't need a lot of sailing experience, but you will need a willingness to learn, a sense of humor, and an ability to stand watches.

You need a current passport. I'll supply food. You are responsible for transportation to and from the boat.

Interested? E-mail me at sailingcrew08 at gmail dot com.

I respond to all replies.

Re: Crew wanted West Palm Beach to Bahamas

I am very interested in this trip. I have a sail boat Catalina 25’ for almost 3 years and I sail regularly in the Chesapeake Bay. I emigrated from the former USSR 20 years ago and retired 3 years ago. I have a MS degree in engineering and can repair anything (motor, electrical, plumbing etc.) I do not smoke, drink, and in good health. I get along with people quite well; I prefer not to impose my opinions to others. I am a good cyclist (more than 3000 miles per year), swimmer and skier. I would like to take part in this trip and do not mind to share expenses.

Re: Crew wanted West Palm Beach to Bahamas

Just wanted to send you a quick note to tell you to keep me in mind for future trips of this sort. I"m a canadian teacher, available march break (9 - 16) and during the months of july and august. I sail in lake Ontario and would love this type of opportunity.

Re: Crew wanted West Palm Beach to Bahamas

Thanks for writing Ian,

I have my crew, they were the first two people who answered my post. They are both Canadians and both sailors. I sorry I couldn't have taken all the people who e-mailed me. It was a difficult decision to make.

I'll be bringing Skylark back to Florida in early March. I'll let you know when I'm more sure of the date.

Thanks again for your interest,

Bill

Re: Crew wanted West Palm Beach to Bahamas

Thanks Bill,

If the dates are the same as my March break (9 - 16), I could fly into the Bahamas and fly back from Florida. Please let me know when you know.

Re: Crew wanted West Palm Beach to Bahamas

Hi Bill, (and Ian),

I'm Marcel french licensed sailor, 15 years of experience with blue water and deliveries.
Would be interested in the trip back to FL in March.

Bill, if you needed a crew in addition to Ian, I would be glad to join.

Regards, marcel.
