Atlantic crossing in the fall

I am hoping to find a crew spot on a boat sailing from Europe to the vicinity of the Americas in the fall. I have done mostly lake sailing and am trying to decide if I like sailing enough to buy a boat for my new home.

I have the basic ASA certs, my own gear, and the time and resources to move forward but need a crucible to see if this is the life for me.

Please contact me if you might need some help. I can fly over early to help with prep.

Thanks for considering the possibility.

Re: Atlantic crossing in the fall

East to west Atlantic crossings are usually done Nov to Feb to coincide with the season in Caribbean, that extends until Jun. No point in arriving at the beginning or middle of the hurricane season Jul-Oct.

Thank you. That is why I am getting my request out now and specified, "in the fall". I am hoping someone is planning their crossing, sees my availability, and reaches out.

Ask Mr google for the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers or ARC web address. There's a crewing section there

Re: Atlantic crossing in the fall

Forgive my directness, not trying to be pessimistic, look for a 3-4 day trip, not 3-4 week trip, there’s no dock to step off or to be put off in the middle or the sides. I have a vessel that can do that, I would not be looking for someone who is unsure about cursing but wants to cross an ocean.

Cheers and good luck

Pretty sure he'd be cursing if on the second day he found he was seasick and the skipper would not turn back..

Hahaha yes, I often curse when cruising and take on tender stomached crew.
I also do a fair bit of cursing when my NYC accent confuses the talk to text option on my technology.
