Darwin to Brisbane

I have only gone the other way and certainly would not have wanted to be going south with all of the 30 know SE winds we had, so have a questions for Aussies with experience in the area. What would be the best season to guy from Darwin to Brisbane and what sort of conditions would one expect?

Thanks

Re: Darwin to Brisbane

I went Darwin to Cairns in October 09 in conditions you describe, although I was expecting/hoping for northerlies. I was able to anchor almost every night.
