pirate Re: Change of Plan

Yahoo..... arrived Las Brisas anchorage Monday afternoon in a F5... and its stayed that way till now... lotsa boats dragging... a real ***** dinghy dock and absolutely no facilities in the 2 marina's either... so I'm dancing on my laundry in a tub.
Moving to La Plaita anchorage 2moro as its well sheltered from the winds and I'll feel happier about leaving the boat while I nip into town for supplies... also its got a 'safer' dinghy dock even if it is a flat $37/week... even if we only use it once..lol.
Hoping to head of this w/end barring unexpected disasters... new batteries are in but now the guy reckons the invertor may be dodgey.. also the 24v charger... whats a dumb seaman to do... sail... or waste another 15 days waiting for bits....
I'm sick of this dump called Panama....
I wanna Sail........

Well, if your charger is dodgey, your new batts may not last long, eh? Get 'er done and get going or you'll spend all your profits before delivery. Dull around the CF clubhouse without your wit. be well.

Good to hear from you, sad to hear about potential electrical probs, happy to know that you might soon be off across the Pacific (fingers crossed). Smooth trouble free sailing Mr Boatman!

Cheers folks... nice to be missed...
Doubt if I'll even break even on this one... made the mistake of settling on a fixed price for the job... being a 2004 'Well Found Boat' and taking the Cape Town route... just one stop... I waived my waiting time rate.... bad idea..
So far I've spent 23 days in St Martin, 17 days in Colon and unlikely to be away from Panama City before May 12th...
Good for the owners though... they're getting their boat fixed on my dime...
Its so tempting to just put the boat in a Marina and fly home to Portugal...
I so hate being a man of my word sometimes....
Wotsname... the way things are going I should be there in your Spring...

Re: Change of Plan

You're gonna need a new nametag: Bargain of the Year. Well, stay in the now and at least have a blast crossing the Pacific.

If it drags on to summer, you might have a back to back delivery

Re: Change of Plan

There's some point where a deal is no longer a deal. I just read of a babe in need of a crew member. An experienced, older gentleman might be just the ticket. Wonder where she could find one?

Now I don't know. There was a post here this morning that's long gone now. Mod works in mysterious ways. Nevermind.
