So far I've spent 23 days in St Martin, 17 days in Colon and unlikely to be away from Panama City before May 12th...
Good for the owners though... they're getting their boat fixed on my dime...
Its so tempting to just put the boat in a Marina and fly home to Portugal...
I so hate being a man of my word sometimes....
Wotsname... the way things are going I should be there in your Spring...
Have you considered a conversation, gentleman to gentleman, with the owner? It sounds like the boat may not have been as well founded as advertised and some consideration for your forbearance may not be unreasonable.

Still you sound well and seem to enjoying yourself ; of course I probably couldn't hear the cursing from here anyway.

Re: Change of Plan

I always hated it when we had to rebild the damn boat to get it where it was spose to go !! But once in a while it happens! Sorry it happend to you ! Being a Man of your word is as hard as it gets sometimes but ya can sleep nights (if ya have enough crew to sleep LOL) I know how ya are feeling, ya want to get going somewhere!! but if the Charge- Batts system is gunnybag, your sorta stuck tween a rock and a hard spot if your going to sea for 3000 + - miles ya gotta have a little power !I know ya can navigate without power, but ya mite want a cool beer or something so ya gotta have a little power !! wish I was sailing with ya ! mite be fun to do a HARD one again LOL go careful !

Re: Change of Plan

Sweet sailing and fair winds, though I am a bit worried about the strange weather we've been having in the Eastern Atlantic. Lows sat firm over UK/North Sea and Portugal. Our week in Albuferia was two sunny days and a lot of intense showers. Since you are as far away as you can get (you'll soon be heading home again) but keep in tough with the guru's. Are you solo on this one? It has benefits on a long run so long as things stay fairly benign. Be worrying about you 'till you log in again.

Time for a checklist ... did you leave on a Friday? Any women on board? Did you kill a gull? Look back when leaving port?

There has to be some reason for all this! Oh wait a minute ... it's a boat!

Fixed on your dime??? I hope the owners are at least are picking up or will be picking up the costs for the parts and maintenance work. If not you got a real raw deal.
