Yorktown sailboats

I got an amazing deal on a 35' Yorktown. I have not been able to find much info on them. I am trying to do some renovation and spruce her up a bit, but not sure the direction to take. I have heard from a couple of boat dealers that it is not a good idea to sink much money in it because they do not have much resale value. Any information or experiences that anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Yorktown sailboats

I had one of those.... A long time ago. I wonder if you have my old one?

The one's finished at the factory are quite livable and had Westerbeke engines. Chainplates are ridiculously cheesey I'd pull the sails down and motor when the wind was over 20 knots.

As I recall the boat was really heavy but sailed okay.

Just don't get too far from shore :-)
