Along with the bi-cultural tools its really nice to have a caliper and a set of thread gauges. This gives you a fighting chance of figuring out what part you are looking for before you start the treasure hunt in some foreign port.

Heck, that would help at home. Seems I'm always on a treasure hunt in my "spare nuts & bolts bin" and I would be money ahead to just buy new and forget about it.
