On the other hand, some people do not have the money nor the time for a cruising yacht.

No doubt. Of course that would be it's only naturally stable state. Actually, we've been on a couple of cruises and had a great time.

Deckofficer, that's an old picture. The Golden Bear has a new paint scheme. Ship is now on its annual summer cruise.

Re: OMG. What's the point?

My family and I have enjoyed some very nice vacations on large cruise ships. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it. If you don't WANT to try it, fine. That's your choice. But then don't pretend that you have any clue what the experience is like.

We don't all have to do, or enjoy, the very same things. My what a boring world this would be if we did!

It was creepy with all of us doubtless thinking of MERS just 100 miles away. I am now waiting for the symptoms to show. And then to die.

And with no TV, I can't even watch Dr. Oz! I do get the newsletter however.

I bought a boat in Toronto back when what?, the Asian or Avian Flu scare happened. Some locals were walking around the streets with medical masks on. I didn't feel safe til I got out in the middle of Lake Ontario in the fog!

Those cruise ships seem to fill a need. I know many folks who've done a cruise, and to a person, they've all had a real good time but that's too many people much too close for me. I quit public pools and hottubs decades ago.

Yes, airplanes are about the most unhealthy environment you can be in. Perhaps rivaled only by general practitioner doctor's offices.

Indeed. I wear a 95N mask on a plane, and the hand stuff, but its so easy to self infect yourself with a simple forget.

I hate airplanes.
I hate BART!

Well that gave those wannabe deckies some painting to do. I served on both Golden Bears, the above medium speed diesel and the prior steam turbine. This is all that is left of the steam Golden Bear.
