Poseidon Adventure for sure. Thing is going to get knocked on its side by the first cyclone it gets near.

4180 potential cases of some weird illness hitting them while at sea. MERS? Legionnaires? Liberalism?

Re: OMG. What's the point?

If you're the sort of trash who enjoy getting shoved in a massive floating cattle shed to get drunk, eat too much and generally cop off with the other trash on board then great. If not, then good on you for not polluting our sea and air, and forcing picturesque parts of the world to spend their little all on big concrete cruise ship facilities so the trash can waddle off, get hot and bored and waddle back on again. One of the main reasons I sail is to get away from this sort of stuff.

Not that I'm opinionated or anything...

Re: OMG. What's the point?

Clearly, the point is to get money getting the boat where they want it to be.

Re: OMG. What's the point?

The bumper cars might be more fun if you could get the captain to turn off the stabilizers for a little while. Otherwise . . .

Leaving NY on May 2 to cross the Atlantic. Hope it's a kinder year weatherwise than this one had been.

OMG. What's the point?

Whilst its fun to be snobby about cruises. Personally I did a transatlantic on the Qm2 eastwards across the pond a few years ago , simply to say I'd done the north Atlantic liner route in the last true liner afloat. I entered a skeptic I left a convert !

Having done a few pond crossings by small boat. It was a very gracious way to travel instead. Almost like id imagine a private superyacht would be.

Yet there was 3000 passengers and nearly 2500 crew most of the time you could still find yourself in a bar with only a couple of other people. Thee was never a sense of a crowd

Re: OMG. What's the point?

Was watching a TV commercial with the wife for a club in Panama City, sounded fun and a little interesting, until they hit what is apparently their main draw for people "Party with Thousands"
That did it for us, being squeezed in with thousands of people like cattle has no draw for us, and why I'll never cruise or go to a Sandals resort or anything like that.
