Mobile Bay

Hello all, My wife and I are on vacation on Dauphin Island and recently learned about the Thursday Night fun race. We both are lake sailors from Missouri and would love a chance to help crew on any boat. So you are a little short handed and need some extra "rail meat", let us know. We are not young but very enthusiastic.

The thursday night fun races are held at Mobile Yacht on the western shore at the mouth of Dog River. All you have to do to sail in one is to show up at the yacht club around 5:30pm to 6:00. Then just ask everyone you see if you can crew for them. You will have no problem getting on a boat and racing. This is a great group of sailors. The race is not restricted to Mobile Yacht Club members. There are three other yacht clubs on Mobile Bay and sailors from all of them come over on Thursday night. By the way the food at the yacht club is great and affordable. You can get info on the club and directions by looking up the Mobile yacht on the net. I look forward to seeing you there!

Just look for West Marine sign at the Dog River Bridge, and right across the road will be the Mobile Yacht Club, take Marina Dr to get under the bridge.
