John Lennon, the Sailor

The following excerpt is from an article in Paste Magazine:

* * *

"A captain’s logbook from a sailing trip John Lennon took in 1980 might have some people wondering what the former Beatle was doing in the middle of the Atlantic sailing in a 43-foot schooner with four strangers and a mysterious figure known only as “Captain Hank.” The answer? Shaking off a five-year bout of writer’s block."

I lived just across the mouth of Mills Creek from him, and saw him a number of times.
He lived near a retired Canadian (I think)sea captain who played the bagpipes every evening.
I still get goose bumps just thinking of how peaceful those melodies were.
John must have felt the same, apparently got his thoughts together to write "Imagine" from that period of time.
