Hammock - whaddaya like?

Looking for a hammock...or two for the boat. The three point hammocks are kind of cool but I wonder if you give up the ease of bringing it ashore for a beach snooze in the palms. Looking for opinions. Some photos would be good too!

Thanks!

I have a couple of the backpacker style ones from ENO that pack up small. They work out great on the boat.

Simple nylon backpacker type. Stows in small stuff sack.

I have one of the ENO ones as well. It packs up really small and works perfectly on the boat.

Haha, I've been looking at my boat for hours trying to figure out where to mount the bloody thing. Not that much room on a 29ft boat... Brianc's picture might work...

Try side stay to forestay. I rig two on my cat that way. Rolling hitch holds on side stays. At forestay, I don't want unfair/crushing load on roller furling rig, so I make up a bowline held up by spin halyard.

Might wreck the foresail too.

Re: Hammock - whaddaya like?

Well I decided on this one for my girl for Christmas. Looks comfy with good ventilation.

Although it will fit us both, not sure if I'd put that load in one concentrated spot on the forestay. I have one of these for the gennaker which may help

But I'll run it all by our rigger first.

Except for certain extracurricular activities, two people in a hammock is damn uncomfortable. Sounds romatic, but you both tend to roll to the same spot, making it hard to move around and get comfortable. For relaxing or sleeping one person per hammock works much better.
