Gone with the wind

We sold our cabin cruiser last Dec and have been in the market for a trawler on the East Coast that would offer some of the comforts of home for the next few years and that would be capable of bringing around to PNW on it’s own bottom. We have been unable to find the right boat in the right condition within our budgetary constraints. We were getting frustrated with the lack of choices available and decided to expand our parameters somewhat so started including motorsailers in our search and lo and behold we found one that has a trawler like layout that appeals to us so now we are under contract with surveys next week. Only one little problem. We don’t know how to sail. Lol. Ok I know it’s not rocket science and we will get the hang of it but we would like a jump start so will be hiring an instructor to teach us on our boat providing the surveys come back with nothing major. Can this forum recommend instructors in SE Florida area that do this for a living?

Thanks for reading through the long winded preamble to the question

Re: Gone with the wind

Both Snore and Auspicious on this Forum are exceptionally qualified Master Mariners who are East-Coast based. Why don't you start with them?

Good luck!
