Fair Winds...

Just wanted to again say THANK YOU to all the great folks lurking around CF. During my 10-year odyssey you have provided much good advice and allowed me to save immeasurable amounts of time & money. CF has been a GREAT resource.

My adventure was fun, but not what I had hoped for. We sold up to sail twice, only to have family intrude and prevent us from sailing away. By the time we had the right boat and the right circumstances, we had grown weary of the demands of cruising. Throw in an extremely cold winter, and we decided to move on.

I don't regret any of it - except for a few dumb mistakes made along the way. We wish all of you good health and good weather. Others have said repeatedly: go NOW if you really want to do this.

For us it's on to a new adventure in a land-based business. If you end up in an RV, point it to the Black Hills and looks us up (Horse Creek Inn). We can have Sundowners on the deck...

When I find out what an RV is, and where SD is, then I'll come find what has got to be the best sounding address since Jedd Clampet moved to the coast: Horse Creek Inn, Black Hills

Sounds wonderful!

I bet you can just about see old US presidents from that deck

If I were one of those gazillionaires who have 10 houses scattered around the globe one of them would have to be in the Black Hills. One of the most beautiful places on the planet. Enjoy.

Sorry to see you're moving on, Mark. I've enjoyed your participation here, especially since we were "kind of" neighbors when I had my boat up for sale in Bradenton.

Wow, your really making a change--southwest Florida to South Dakota. Hope those SD winters don't freeze your toes off! All the best to you.

Talking Fair well!

Hate to see you go! You've had a lot of input here over the years but life changes as we go. SD? My father went snow blind (color blind) up in that area.

PS I'll miss Bullwinkle (Avatar), It was an EZ sign you were posting.

You'll always have a home here, Mark, and your posts and Bullwinkle avatar are woven into the fabric of Cruisers Forum. I'll add my +1 onto the suggestion that you pop in from time to time to let us know how your new adventure is going. Your cruising insights will always be valuable information for CF readers, so whenever you aren't too busy, drop by and share your hard-won experiences.

I know a lot of people who are full-time RVers, and they all have South Dakota license plates . . .
