Re: advice replace standing rigging

I'm in the boat yard pulling my masts on our Hudson Force 50 now.
I'll measure the rigging once the masts are on the ground and order new from Rigging Only, reattach and stand up the masts. Once all done, I'll have a rigger come for a rigging survey and inspection to make sure I didn't screw something up.

Oh yeah, that's right, but I do hear of places that still have some of them still on shelves. Maybe that was a while back.

A bad buy as the cones will not be available for a future re-rig.

Re: advice replace standing rigging

I used Rigging Only as well. Sent my old stuff in with adjustments, (My old rigging was stretched), and they sent back the new. Nice folks to deal with.

Re: advice replace standing rigging

We had our Aphrodite 101 re-rigged about ten years ago for under 3K. We have an exotic rig with adjustable backstay and runners so I suspect a simpler boat will cost less.

Rigging Only in Fairhaven, MA is a first class place in my experience.

That's why the folks who used computers before the Web, still make out quotes using a quick cut-n-paste and quote marks. No ill-crafted web software needed.

If you are going to add your own comment inside someone else's quoted post, at least use a clearly different font and colour. UNCIVILZED's comments are almost indistinguishable from the original quote (Just a slightly different colour on my screen*

Re: advice replace standing rigging

StuM, that's not something I was aware of, & will use another color in the future. I have avoided using red, & other bright colors, as they seem quite obnoxious. Somewhat akin to shrieking quite loudly in text. And on my screen the difference between Royal Blue (my comment color) & Black is very evident.
Anyone else having color differentiation problems with my posts?
