$150k-180k..which boat?

So if you were going to spend 150k -180k or there abouts ,what would you buy and why? No right or wrong answer here.
Im planning on purchasing another boat in the near future and are interested others preferences.
Thanks in advance.

I have a fondness for pacific seacraft 37. (Crealok) safe, well built and pretty.

Dale! You know this forum!

You spend $10,000 on a 32 foot shitlocker with 2 or 3 masts and a keel longer than the boat, no hatches and 1 on-deck Thunder Box. You then spend 6 years fixing it up.

The fixing costs the rest of the money but you've SAVED, don't ya see?

Check eBay

Re: $150k-180k..which boat?

Santa Cruz 40 - $70K
Fast
Well built
Laid out well for cruising with a family. Good berths for everyone underway.
Not too big, not too small.
No running backs

Cal 43 - $100K
Same reasons but slightly too big.

Bristol Channel cutter - $60-195K
Take you anywhere in some comfort.
Reasonably speedy for its size.

To do what? Cruise around the world, Race to Hawaii, daysail... I have no idea how to define the parameters for you.

Re: $150k-180k..which boat?

With no parameters to guide us, I'll approach the question another way and say that whatever I bought for that much money, it would be in pristine condition and fully equipped.

Hi Gamayun, yes, somethings have changed for me so have decided to upgrade to bigger boat. Im considering a bigger freedom, based on Freeform just being so good over the years but im leaning towards a newer boat.
Dont know if I'll like going back to stays.
