Reef Bay Trail, St. John

Are there any park service moorings off the beach where the Reef Bay Trail ends? I'd like to let my group hike it and then move the boat around to pick them up. I know anchoring is prohibited and I have not seen any moorings described in the cruising guide so I'm not sure if this is possible.

Going from memory I think that trail ends near Lameshur Bay. There are moorings available there.

The hiking maps show this trail ending in Genti Bay which is around White Point from Lameshur and doesn't seem to be connected. My guidebook doesn't show any detail on this bay.

Reef Bay has day moorings only. The nearest night Park Service mooring is Lameshur. That is @ a 4-5 mile round trip hike from Reef Bay, on good trails.

Thanks Fritz. That is what I was hoping to hear. A day mooring allows me to easily wait for my hikers to appear and then we will move on.

This seems to indicate that Reef Bay and Lameshur trails are connected. http://www.vinow.com/stjohn/national...onal_park1.php

Thank you, yes I see that the trails are connected. So it's just a matter of how far my group wants to hike. I suspect they will be spent by the time they get to the petroglyphs and will want the closest beach pickup. I'll be happy to stay on the boat with a cold drink and wait for them!
