It's interesting that Palm Cay is regarded as a protected marina. I spent quite a bit of time there this past season and would have thought exactly to opposite. Affordable marinas in Nassau that have good protection - I don't know. We stayed in Port Lucaya in Freeport for a couple weeks also and they had concrete docks that were trashed from the last hurricane that hit. IMO, there is no safe marina unless the sea access takes a turn, then another one, and finally a third and then empties into a big enough body of water to handle the surge.
