This is only true for locals. I don't know how much is for foreigners, probably much cheaper than in the Bahamas anyway.

I have heard stories about people getting very bad fuel in Venezuela, not sure if this is still true ?

No, fuel is usually clean if you buy in a pump. If you buy from someone in cans it may be bad but is not my experience.

Are you in Venezuela now Sotavento ? What is the pump price for a litre or gallon of diesel now at the marinas for foreigners ?

In March 2012, diesel was $1.30 in Sint Maarten.
Currently it is $1.06 in Culebre, PR
It was $0.96 in Salinas about three weeks ago.
All prices are per litre, of course.

In the British Virgin Islands, diesel at Sopers Hole marina just cost us US$4.70/gal

I would watch this ... a mate of mine has an incredible fuel straining and separation system which cleans diesel prior to it going into his tanks ... 1/3 of the diesel he purchased from tanks was water ... that's a lot of water

Hi typhoon, I checked, apparently there is no way a foreign boat can buy fuel legally. Absurd? yes! probably after next Sunday things will change ( we hope) drastically. Nevertheless I was told you can get fuel from third parties but price you have to bargain, but remember base price is "free".

Petit Martinique was about 14.94 EC for imperial gallon of gasoline and 16.30 ec for imperial gallon of diesel. Ends up being about $4.60 a US gallon for diesel and $5.02 a US gallon for gasoline. I think Grenada has been a little more than that.
