BVI Trip Report Sunsail Vs. Horizon

We just recently returned from the BVI. Had a FANTASTIC time! We chartered a 36i from Sunsail. The experience we had from Sunsail was night and day difference from our previous experience at Horizon. The customer service was top-notch! The boat was ready on time and was in beautiful condition. Everything was in order and the professionalism at Sunsail was Awesome. Sailed all over, Norman, VG, JVD, Anegada...Spectacular trip, some rain, not much wind on some days....fantastic sailing on other days.

The Pizza at Jolly Roger was the best we ever had in the BVI. Had the best meal, possibly EVER...in our lives, or at least it is in t he top 3, at The Last Resort, Pan Fried Snapper was the most amazing blend of flavors. As always the great entertainment was alot of fun!

Neptune's Treasure and Lobster Trap also had wonderful food. Debating over the best Conch Fritters...Cooper Island? Willy T? or Cow Wreck? We love the Harbour Market in Soper's for Provisions, beautiful clean presentation, reasonable prices, some cheaper than home! The boat handled and sailed beautifully....could not have been a better trip!

Can't wait to return!!

Glad you had a good trip! Was the singing chef still entertaining at the Last Resort(English guy with a great one man show)? That was one of my best nights out EVER. He managed to get an English tv news reporter up singing Britney Spears!
We had good service from sunsail on flotilla in BVIs in 2008, although the prop fell off one boat, and we heard that the propshaft came loose on our boat the week after we handed it back!
We had even better service from Horizon in Grenada in 2010. I believe Horizon is a franchise operation, and the service we had from them in Grenada was the best we've seen from the 6 different companies we've used. They seemed to take pride in good service from the office staff to mechanic and cleaner. Can't speak of other Horizon bases though.

Thanks! We had a fantastic time! The singing chef indeed was keeping the crowd joyfully entertained....and was the main reason we returned to the Last Resort! We were there last Oct...Full Moon....had a blast!! Hoping to return again in November this year....it will be a "Must do"

Glad to hear that you had a great experience with Sunsail as well...and with Horizon Grenada!

We had a wonderful time in the BVI Last Oct, but had a terrible experience with Horizon, Nanny Cay, Tortola. We have written about it in detail here on the forum. Its sad...and their loss, visiting the BVI 2-3 times a year....they can do the math!!!

We went with LateSail.com and chartered the boat from Sunsail through them....they were really awesome as well!
