In Turkey - Kemer or Marmaris ?

Would love any personal recommendations regarding what would be better for wintering in Turkey - Kemer Marina or Marmaris Marina? We are a family of 4 - kids are 12 and 14 so activities are important. Will be there for at least a month (November), maybe more if we decide not to take the boat to Israel. Thank you! Marina

Hi Marina,

Be aware most expats resident in either marina for the winter are a tad older than your kids:-)

But back in 2006 Kemer used to have a very very busy winter schedule.

It included daily keep fit, cookery lessons, language lessons in French, German, Turkish, tennis (coaching and tournaments), organised nights out to the opera in Antalya, weekend mountain or beach hikes usually followed by lunch together somewhere. Film and quiz nights in the clubhouse, and even a freebie cake from the management if it was your birthday........

I am sure the Marmaris mob have an equally full agenda and not sure if Kemer may have changed under it's new management.........possibly worth a call to each which would probably give you up to date information.

Enjoy
JOHN

If the main concern is the activity, Kemer probably is a better option. It's a 40-45 min drive o Antalya where you can find whatever you are looking for. Marmaris (where live) is cute but beetween November and May but it will be boring for the kids. For the rest, I don't know the prices but Marmaris offers more options both for works and berthing. As a climate, Kemer is expected to be a bit milder..
Good luck
