I have been cruising this season in MX, on my way to the P Canal and final destination, Roatan, Bay islands, Honduras. While cruising, hit a bad storm and lost my anchor and bow roller system. So would love a new:

Recently in the Exumas, we attempted to anchor off the popular Chat-n-Chill. It was high season and thousands of yachts anchored over a large area. We were a 56 Carver and a primary Delta with backup fortress.

There was one area just south of the iconic establishment that we, and many others, tried to anchor, but failed. The bottom is a soft sand colored clay-like mud.

Following this a Gunboat with a Mantus primary pulled in and dropped anchor. They achieved a solid hold on their first attempt. We were amazed!

Replacing the Lewmar bridle chain hook (spring loaded pin). The Lewmar had a tendency to roll the bridle/chain when it took a load. This resulted in a side load (hear) on the spring pin which eventually bent. We discovered it after taken 40-minutes to release the pin when trying to raise anchor. What a P.I.T.A. ! The Mantus is a much more intelligent fool-proof design.
