Iv'e just replaced them after testing them at the 20 hour discharge rate and they were down to 50% of their original capacity - that is when Lifeline say they should be replaced. Most battery manufacturers recommend replace when down to 80%.

I had a large bank, so even at 50% capacity it was still 515 Ah, so over the 14 years the annual amortised cost was no more than standard cheap house battery.

Re: No big battery chargers?

This is the Concorde battery owners manual, a little different than the Lifeline, notice no mention of equalizing.
I think they call it boost charging, I’ll look to see.

I’ve never hear of their Chairman battery, but the Manila sure looks familiar

Not sure how you pulled this off. Maybe with your large capacity you never drew them down all that much? Still, mine went 8 years mostly plugged into shore power, with conditioning cycles probably 1x/yr. Even when away from the dock I don't recall ever drawing them down less than 80%, mainly because I have higher than avg. genset use for my 110v refrigeration/freezer holding plate system.

Re: No big battery chargers?

When I talked with them I told them my expected use was to fully recharge twice a week, equalize once a month (their suggestion) and do it year round.
I was told that I’d be calling in five years for a replacement bank.

I assumed I’d make water twice a week and that was when I’d get fully charged, but now have a Honda and a 30 min run in the morning, assuming a sunny day will get me to 100% with Solar, 60 min on a cloudy day.
Middle of Winter, but in the tropics.

I'd be happy with getting 5 years out of a set of Lifelines given your regimen.
