North Pacific, spring 2014. US West, Alaska, Aleutians, Kamchatka.

I'm putting together a crew from US West coast to Kamchatka, Russia. The vessel is 65' steel trawler. Expected time of departure April, 2014, date TBD.

Looking for two members: a captain with experience, who can teach and enjoys sharing the knowledge; and assistant (engine and electrics experience is a big plus). This is a one way passage, return airfare and visa support will be provided.

I have been looking for a sailing vessel with these destinations to crew on. I know, lived (Petropavlovsk) and sailed around Kamchatka - one of the most impressive places on earth. Have much fun and lots of red caviar!

I have spend many years in that area. I would say the righ time to departure is end of April or middle of May. Im a experienced captain, in boating for last 10 years. Ship captain before that, familiar with that area.

Re: North Pacific, spring 2014. US West, Alaska, Aleutians, Kamchatka.

Just wanted to give an update: we successfully completed the trip and reached Kamchatka in June. From the original crew there was only two people:
James (mechanic) and myself. Since initially hired captain abandoned position on the second day I assumed captain's responsibility. The trip was challenging but totally worth it. Great experience, I'd do it again. Thanks for your interest and support!
