For Christmas Lighted Boat Parade on the Columbia River

I'll be lighting up my catamaran and joining the Clover Island Yacht Club's Christmas lighted boat parade on the Columbia River on Dec 9 and 10th, starting at Clover Island in Kennewick Washington. My wife will be out of town that weekend and I need crew to help dock and etc. The parade gets ready at 6:00 pm and starts at 7:00 pm under the cable bridge and goes up stream to Richland about 20 miles round trip. A party on Sat night at the Yacht Club is part of it too. I'll have a few munchies but bring your own bottle if you want, I'll have bottled water on board. My boat has an enclosed helm so it will be dry and warm.

Re: For Christmas Lighted Boat Parade on the Columbia River

Phil. I'm interested in crewing with you for light parade... I'm experienced multihull sailor with blue water crossings. Live in Pullman, sail a macgregor 26 for now.

E mail eaglebradley@yahoo.com

If not now we can sail some other time perhaps. I considered mooring my boat in pasco... Would like to sail the Columbia in that area.

Using I book... Need to be brief.

Re: For Christmas Lighted Boat Parade on the Columbia River

I dug out our really kewl Santa suit so we can take turns on the deck being Santa under the spot light that's on the mast. There's a full moon on Sat night and a luner eclipse at 6:30 am but I don't think I'll be awake.

Just a quick update... Phil let me know that the parade start time is 6:00 PM and that anyone helping out will need to be aboard by 5:30 PM. See you this weekend.

Re: For Christmas Lighted Boat Parade on the Columbia River

I had a great time hosting a Christmas party on my boat in the Christmas Lighted Boat parade. Friday night I had 4 CF members I had never met join a couple of buddies of mine. There was 3 guys from Pullman Wa that are in a sailing club there with Eaglemac, they took turns wearing the Santa suit standing on the bow with my mast spotlight on them waving to the crowds of folks. Nia a CF member brought her camera and got lots of pic's I hope. The parade course was about 12 miles up stream and back to the marina, there must have been thousands of folks lining the park shore line all the way along the parade route. We were the only sail boat much less catamaran in the parade. On Sat night we had CF moderator Janet H and husband (who played Santa all evening ) and one of there friends also Nia a CF member joined us again and another sailor couple from up the Yakima valley I got to know in the San Juan Islands. We had a little problem with my throttle control the shift handle came completely off because the screw that holes it all together had come unscrewed, so another boat towed us for about 30 min while Santa took apart the control and used one of the housing screws and put it back together and we were able to power on our own back in to the marina . There was a party at the Clover Island Yacht Club about 100 yards from our slip and we all got hot drinks and munchies and an award plak for participating Merry Christmas to all.
