Union River Boat Co. Downsizing

Despite rumours the Union River Boat Company was going out of business, the makers of the 30' Presto (Cruising World's 2011 Cruising Spirit Awared, Sail magazine's Best Cruising Monohull under 50') are simply moving to smaller digs.

URB's main business is specialized production of hulls for other companies, but launched Ryder Boats in 2009 to produce their own complete design.

I am glad someone got some clear news on the subject. Rumors can sure be confusing and drive customers away when in reality they are not closing down.

Re: Union River Boat Co. Downsizing

I sorta set a morning task for myself: while doing my usual news junky searches, keep an eye out for items which:
  • would possibly be of interest to cruisers
  • are not negative (deaths, disasters and accidents, etc.)
  • try to mention upcoming events cruisers might participate/attend
It has been a great exercise, especially researching relevant links/sources, and I'll keep it up until I fly out.

Aloha Amgine,
Keep us updated on your cruise. I'm especially interested in the performance of that schooner. I used to crew on a three masted Marco Polo but that was a completely different design.
kind regards,
