Re: Horstman Trimaran

That would be fine. Let me know how it goes as time goes on. Good luck!

Re: Horstman Trimaran

Sold, sorry. (It has, however, just been relisted in CraigsList).

Re: Horstman Trimaran

Hey Thom, I am looking at your boat for sale on Craigslist. Starting at $32k it still is a decent price, I'm sorry about the circumstances of your sale. I plan to drive the 8 hrs and survey it myself. However before i make that drive I'd love to ask you a few questions about it. I assume you would be a better source of information then the new owner. Would you PM me when your time allows? Thanks-Alan

Re: Horstman Trimaran

I could do that this weekend.

I did all of the refit, exterior and interior and all systems. If I can answer any questions for you, I'll be happy to do so.

Go ahead and PM me.

Re: Horstman Trimaran

Sold! I couldn't pass this boat up Thom, you did a great job with it. Thank you for all the hard work. Perhaps we can chat over a box of Franzia in the galley some time soon.

Best wishes for a full recovery and a speedy trial.

Re: Horstman Trimaran

@ScottWidmann, let me know if you decide to relist it for double your money

Great buy, though! I'd have gone for it even at the relisted price, but hard to swallow someone profiteering off someone else's misfortune...

I'm guessing he paid close to if not the asking price. I'd also guess that Thomm wanted a quick sale which it appears he got. Sounds like a great sale as both parties came out of it happy.

Re: Horstman Trimaran

Is that a horse getting beaten to death by a light saber to the nuts? Jesus.

By the time I'm through the boat will have double my money in it already. Would have to sell for quadruple. Plus - it's worth more to me than that already. Love this boat.

Dare I say - the first 38' Horstman design ever built...

Re: Horstman Trimaran

I love my Horstman. I get offers all the time. No way I'm selling it.

Scott, we should start a Horstman sub-forum on here.

Re: Horstman Trimaran

Sounds good to me, should we start by uploading more photos and videos? Or maybe a discussion on what we like about the design overall?

Re: Horstman Trimaran

Well, I put about $40k into the boat and have come to the conclusion that I'm a great handyman and a horrible sailor. Probably won't take her out beyond the trip I made from Longbeach to San Diego. The boat is currently in San Diego, new equipment is listed below. Let me know if you want to take a look. Selling for what I bought it for plus the cost of the improvements below (most are materials only since I did the installation)

https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/...397062602.html

New Equipment as of 2017:

Lewmar Hatches 24”x24” x 3
High Capacity AGM Batteries x5
Magnum Inverter Charger
B&G Navigation Electronics including chart plotter, depth transducer, and radar
Pioneer Sound System
100 Watt solar panels x4
Memory Foam Mattresses
3G / 4G Signal Booster
Navigation Lights
Torqeedo 3HP Dinghy
Bottom Paint Job
Hull Paint Job
Complete buff and Wax
Surveys x3 (interior, out of water, and rigging)

Re: Horstman Trimaran

Do you have more photos of the helming position, winchs etc. Is this boat ready for an offshore passage once the bottom is painted.
