Antique Cabin Cruiser to Restore

I am searching for a pre war power cruiser, built between 1920 and 1941. Interested in all makes including Elco, Richardson, Matthews, Dawn, etc. Does anyone know of such a vessel in need of rescue and restoration?

It would help to know where you're located. Shipping a 40' Elco from California to Turkey would cost a small fortune!

Try Bob at woodenboatsnj.com which is Wooden Boats New Jersey dot com I think or some similar. I have dealt w/ Bob in the Past and he is a great guy and has extensive wooden boat inventory.. Also look for wooden boats in Michigan w/ Google etc. Good Luck..

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but I'd REALLY love it if you took it away from my neighbor's dock. I think it was on Craig's list last year for under $1,000. It's in the Chesapeake Bay just north of Annapolis. PM me if you want details.

Thank you all for the replies. I definitely want something built between 1920 and 1941. I am located in the Northeast USA. I have been in contact with Bob at Woodenboatsnj.com. He is a great guy and appears very willing to help. He does not appear to have something in the age range I am seeking right now.

And River Rat.........damn! You might consider investing in a snorkel and a bit brace with a sharp new bit cause that thing might be easier to look at if it were sitting fifteen feet lower in the water! LOL.

I will pass along the info on the other newer boats that were suggested to my network. Perhaps we can find them a new home.

Thank you all very much. I am open to any other ideas or leads....

Don't think that thought hasn't occurred to me! There actually were a few folks over there looking at it the other day and I heard one of them say to another as he's looking down into the side of the boat where it's not capped 'Do you think this could just be rain water in here?'

Good luck on your hunt for a good boat to restore!
