Unhappy Sharp Solar Panel 123W - New in Box

Hi.

I bought two of these and installed one on the boat, but cannot put both on the boat.
So, I am selling one of them.

It is less than a month old, but i have not open the box.
But, I left the box outside in the pontoon, so the box looks bad.^^
Box and of course, nothing inside is opened and touched.

It is named SunForce Solar panel and is listed $899.00 at westmarine where I bought and I would like to sell it at $600.00.
I am in Mystic, CT, and buyer will have to pay for shipping (UPS?) or best pick up themselves.
I do not have a car either.

I can be reached at 860-271-3012 and cool2848@hotmail.com
In case, multiple contacts are made, i would regard whoever responded earlier to this writing gets the precidense(?).

Not to mess up your sale, but Kyocera 135's can be purchased for around ~$350 brand new. West Marine is notoriously overpriced for solar panels (and much else). I don't want to see anyone paying too much for something.

Kyocera KD135GX-LPU G-Frame 135W 12V Solar Panel - 100 to 149 Watts Solar Panels @ AltE

Wowow, I did not know that.
Kycera is the best ceramic company in Japan.
Thanks for the information!

Can you take it back to West Marine? That would seem to be the best option...

... their panels are SO overpriced. If you can (even for a store credit) I think it would be your best best.

That would be great if they receive.
But, since i left it outside for several weeks rain or shine, I doubt it.
But, worth a try I think....
Thanks for the suggestion.

There is a West Marine within walking distance of Mystic Seaport.

Yes, I go there several times a week, haha.
Thanks!
appreciated.

I bought a boat about a month ago and in the process of refitting and in the haste made lots of not well thought out decisions.^^

Please let me know who is really selling the Kyrocera 135's for $350. The website link listed by rebel heart lists the panel availability at 2-3 months, which means "never". I have heard that Kyrotcera has stopped production of their 12v panels.

The same site lists the Kyocera KD135GX-LFBS 135W 12V Module, Blue Cells in stock at the same price. Looks like there might be a difference in the frames.

while on the subject of kyocera panels, just had someone in the harbor have an old one that is no longer even a model they sell fail. the local solar expert/dealer charged 200 to figure out what was wrong. Kyocera sent him a new panel of larger capacity, and paid the 200 fee.

They win my business.

First, I would wonder how the local expert justified $200 to determine a panel was bad. Seems high to me..but it could be the going rate. Which if it is, i know what field I'm going to put my 26 years of Electronics into

I bought the blue ones; they're identical in frame and electrical profile.

Minimum Voltage to Charge Battery

I read the following review at the website provided in one of this thread's posts:

"I was greatly surprise to have as much as 9 volts charging my battery with only 2 135W kyocera solar panel in the fall. But I will give more details later this winter, when I will be in the Bahamas."

I thought that, to charge a 12 volt battery, you needed a minimum of 12 point something volts going in.
