Re: 45-55' POWER CATAMARAN

Kin,
I would say it depends on your budget mostly but Mainecat has the P47, which has downeast styling and excellent us build qualities prices at 800k. Journey catamarans has the 47LRC which is new design on market at 889k and looks ultra modern. Also there are production style boats like the Leopard 51PC, marine max power cats and a bunch of custom boats in Australia and NZ. Another one that comes to mind is the new MP52 by Maltese catamarans priced at 450K.

Yacht world is a good place to search as well. What are you looking to spend and how new of a boat do you desire?

Take a look at the Leopard 47 PC. It has now been replaces by the Leopard 51PC
You can get a better deal on them as they are out of production. We charted them a few time and really enjoyed them.

20kn cruise? I don't know of any large cats that can do this. If you could find one the engines alone would probably break the budget if you want any load carrying ability.

Re: 45-55' POWER CATAMARAN

I believe he mentioned an 18-22 knot cruise, which i think is asking a bit too much for a big cat as well... but the Mainecat p47 is a fast boat and efficient, as well as the journey 47 cat, some of the other production power cats can cruise that high but won't do it efficiently.
Kurt Hughes has an interesting PDF article that you could google regarding displacement power catamarans. Worth a read if your considering the multihull route.

Yachtworld is great place to browse through and research for cruise speed info as well.
