MAC Test Needed:
FS#1991 : Several quick clicks on Zoom In / Out toolbar buttons not working

Linux & Mac Test needed:
FS#2079 : OCPN crashes when using same waypoint (of existing route) in new route.

FS#2069 : UI Context Lost or Hangs when "Print Route" Selected from "Route Properties" Window

FS#2062 : Test needed - Change in net connection protocol..previous protocol

FS#2028 : RM OpenCPN 4.2.0 Bug in New Route -Use existing waypoint yes-no

FS#1811 : When targets are disabled, mouse actions still work

Is this a bug or not? Can it be closed?
FS#1916 : RMB/APB not sent when Options dialog is open -

This guy is having trouble displaying his raster charts.
Needs exposure to users with chart expertize. His raster charts may be malformed but retrievable. Don't believe it is a OpenCPN issue.

I'd be cool with testing on Mac...except I can't seem to build the latest code. Is there a branch I should be on?

The build instructions are way out of date on the website and digging out ancient versions of the Mac SDK is getting to be a pain as os version updates keep wiping them out.

Is there, perchance, a more modern set of build instructions? Can we move forward to WX3.10 perhaps?

I'd also be game to start a major refactoring to decouple the code from WXWidgets entirely so there was a clean division between UI code and core code to facilitate making the portable bits portable and the platform specific UI bits separate.

I updated 1991, the others will take more time to test. Are there any more modern build instructions for mac os?

The build process for MAC has not really been discussed much in the forum
I know Gerhard [carcode] Pavel [nohal] and Dave [bdbcat] know how to do it.

You will find instructions here. I am very very sure that your MAC expertize and assistance will be much appreciated. There are some very skilled MAC programmers already contributing in a big way. Hope this helps. If you need more help please don't hesitate to post on the forum where other MAC will see.

Those instructions are pretty long in the tooth. I did get them to work some time ago. Is there a particular code branch I should be on?

The Mac build recipe has not changed in some time. You should be able to put together a build setup using the current github branches. Branch v4.2.2 will build the current Beta test article.

I'd be happy to help with specific issues once you get started.

These steps:

xtract the SDK and copy to the installed Xcode environment:
$ hdiutil attach ~/Downloads/xcode4630916281a.dmg
$ sudo sh -c "(cd /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs ; mkdir MacOSX10.7.sdk ; chown ${USER} MacOSX10.7.sdk)"
$ (cd /Volumes/Xcode/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs ; tar cf - MacOSX10.7.sdk) | (cd /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs; tar xf -)
$ hdiutil detach /Volumes/Xcode

do not produce a 10.7 sdk that XCode recognizes.

Stuck. I followed the instructions to the letter - Xcode says "The run destination My Mac is not valid for Running the scheme 'OpenCPN'." and the BaseSDK setting says 10.7 (not found).

AuroraGH,

why do you want to use an outdated SDK if you have El Capitan?
OCPN compiles fine with SDK 10.11 but you must also compile the wxWidgets libs with SDK 10.11. No problem at all.

If you really want to use an older Mac OSX you can get 10.7 here:
http://topperdiek.de/dl/MacOSX10.7.sdk.zip
unzip and copy the resulting folder MacOSX10.7.sdk to /Applications/Xcode/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs/
