The uninstall is in the former 0.4.0 pi folder and does not run automatically when installing a new version. One has to do that manually.
When you un-install an older beta of OpenCPN the plug-in folder will not be destroyed and hence the the OpenCPN 3.3.13... neither for example

But this does not seem to be the problem - the check with the W7 PC showed that we generate something wrong from the latest Fpr02.

Looking into a solution now and will put your generated InstallPermits to zero.
There is a second user with the same dilemma.

It is automatically generated on installation of the PlugIn.

Hi Dave

In the Chartworld download, I received a IHO.CRT file, not IHO.PUB (among other files I couldn't make sense of, see pict). As the install permit wouldn't check, I assumed that (part of ) the problem was the fact that I had not entered the right IHO.PUB.
Googling for IHO.CRT and IHO.PUB, I later discovered I was wrong: the IHO.PUB bundled in the plugin seems universal, hence OK

BTW, Renate from o-charts later sent me a valid Install permit, and the charts now display fine (but see further post)

When installing the Chartworld charts, I got the following warning several times. I am trying to reproduce, but I would first like some feedback on the proper sequence of events for loading S63 charts, as my procedure might be incorrect

I first 'Add Directory' pointing toward the ENC ROOT of the S63 charts in the 'Loaded Chart' panel of the Toobox, 'Database rebuild' and 'Apply'
I then turn to the S63 panel, populate and check the user and install permits, then 'Import Cell Permits...' and finaly 'Import Charts / Updates'.
I seem to end up with two directories pointing to the s63 charts (see pic), hence my question.

Two possibilities:
- something wrong with the install/the plug-in
or
- really a problem of the chart provider

Can you check that there are no double entries in the "Installed Cell Permit List"?
Then the relevant parts of opencpn.log would be interesting as well.

No double entries in the list (see pic in zipped folder)
Here is the S63 log and the OCPNlog following a clean install of the plugin (uninstalling old one and 63 folder, deleting permits etc). I followed exactly the procedure outlined in my previous post. They include Security Scheme Errors. I still have a double entry in the loaded charts list as in the pic in my previous post

As I understand it, this step is not necessary, and not recommended , and is probably why you get double entries.

I don't understand any of this tech stuff,I don't need to I know a bloke who does, but before I pay him to install the plug-in how much does the charts cost? ie is it like cm93 charts(the whole world) or per chart or per area Iceland for example? Sorry if it's plain to see,I just don't see it, thanks.

I wonder whether there is a memory leak with S63.
If I quilt up to 7 charts (using a specific chart group for S63 charts) memory usage hits above 1,5 Go, and the computer hangs...

The Hydrographic Offices and the Chart Distributors (also called VARs) distribute single Cells or Charts (thats the same). More exactly they license charts, they don't sell charts.
CM93 isn't the "whole world" neither. These are single charts as well, but you found those bundled.
To know the price for your selection you might have a look at a distributor as ChartWorld.com.
