Did you download the tiles first before exporting? Here's a walkthrough of what works for me >

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Released

Hello Dave, Pavel,

An observation concerning OpenCPN 5.0.0 + c5c0baf (of this night by Pavel).

The window of the tide stations opens, now, very easily. It's better than previous versions. So: Ok. It's a progression.

BUT:
It is possible, inadvertently, to click twice, or more, on the same tide station. And the same tidegram opens twice or more ...
And we must close successively the 3 displays ...
Hum ... It would probably be necessary to prevent that the tide gauge of a same tide station opens several times.

BUT:
Similarly, the tide gauges of two or more tide stations can be opened.
To compare two tide stations, it's interesting. This should not be prevented. This possibility must be preserved.
On the other hand, to see, even on a fairly wide screen (14 inches), 3 tide gauges, it is necessary to reduce the width of each tidegram. Curiously, this closes the display of the small zone, located at the top right, in which the low and high tide times are displayed.
It seems to me that rather than close this small area, it would be necessary:
- reduce the upper left area in which the name of the tide station is displayed
- keep the right zone in which the low and high tide times are displayed.

With a 15 inches screen (38cm) I have open 4 without loosing the times on top.
Best regards.

Hello Pavel,

Just a message for you who developed the GE plugin.
I put a post (# 419) in this thread:Google Earth Plugin - Page 28 - Cruisers & Sailing Forums

That said, I repeat, GE works well with O5.0.

There is a version of OpenCPN for Android, but not for apple.
On Androïd, you have to look for the version called "OpenCPN Dave Register", which is paying.
The other version is an older version, which has never been updated and should never be updated.

Pour la version payante, il existe un forum dédié ici :

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Released

If I create an mbtiles file fom SasPlanet the resulting chart on OpenCPN does not follow the hlg border giving extra black data an extar border line. The first attachment shows the hlg outline created on SasPlanet. The second show the resulting chart with all the hlg points marked as red waypoints. You can see the the chart border does not follow these points and thus has black data and an extra border line. I've already opened a similar problem on he tracker 2546 with no response.

If you like the mbtiles chart and the hlg are available here:

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Released

The extra area you are seeing is probably due to the zoom you selected when you exported to mbtiles. The resulting mbtiles will *at least* cover the selection area, and will go over it if the zoom level exceeds the area you have selected.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Released

When I open NMEA debug window, nothing I do will close the window.

Tried the red cross for the debug window, the red cross for the options window, unticking the box for opening debug window, selecting cancel or OK.

Cannot close O with the red cross for its own window.
Right click O icon and select "quit 2 windows" doesn't work.

Reboot computer only way I can get to shut debug window down.

Ubuntu 18.04 Opencpn V5.

Ubuntu or Open problem???
Any suggestions, or more info required?

Thanks Redog

I have seen this before too. I think it is related to the particular window manager you are using. Do you know what window manager your system uses?

options - display - advanced - options (next to OpenGL) - clear textture cache.

I have this on Kubuntu too, any version in the past few years and now 18.10.
Try to close the settings window first, then I can close the NMEA debug window also. You may have to move the debug window to get to close the settings window.
