SailrF54....

Hmmm..... I see unrecognized (by me) comments in your log.

example
Code:
Not detaching, asked to catch up
Where did they come from?

Wondering

I should have added that I had the following plugings enabled
dashboard 1.1
Googleearth 0.6
Grib 1.1
WMM 0.2

Here is the .ini file

One more thing. Once I have turned quilting off, I can turn it on again without any further crash....

Added.
Here is a full log from a crash condition

SailorF54....

So, the natural question:

Does it crash without any PlugIns enabled?

Thanks

I don't know (yet). Everytime I had crashes, first thing I did was turning quilting off...
Will investigate...

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 423

Dave,
with the current GE plugin, there will be quite a lot of debug stuff like that. And there can be (and are if you pan the chart more than pretty defensively) unpredictable crashes coming from the COM monster. Although on startup the plugin should not cause much problems as it's "sleeping". I will add something to my plugins to make it clear which message belongs where...

Pavel....

Thanks. Please note my (inconsistent applied) "standard":

Errors reported in the log begin with whitespace. Makes them easy to detect at a glance. Not so for WxWidgets error, too bad.

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 423

Got a crash (with all plugings closed) after deleting the entire content of the
.../ProgramDta/OpenCpn directy (navobj, CRTLIST, log, .ini, and CM93 folder)
and setting quilting on first thing after starting up; crashes on very first drawing the CM93 charts around.

I get this crash consistently everytime I restart OpenCpn and begin to mouse drag the charts

Here are the log of the first and second crashes and the .ini file

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 423

A further experiment

Deleted once again the content of the ProgramData/opencpn folder.

Opencpns started fine, I could drag the chart around. (quilting is off by default)

Then I switched quilting on, and immediately got a crash when moving the charts around.

.ini and .log attached

SailorF54....

Simple and clear instructions. Thanks.

Unfortunately, it works fine for me. No crash. On XP.

Anyone else able to duplicate this scenario?

On Windows:
1. Delete contents of opencpn application data folder.
2. Start opencpn 423.
3. Add cm93 charts.
4. Tick "Enable quilting" box.
5. Drag the charts. Maybe crash.....

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 423

Dan..

In order to test v 423 I installed it on my desktop Win-XP.

After installation I went straight to Tools and tried switching off Show Chart outlines which resulted in an immediate crash. I tried this several times before giving up.

I am beginning to think I might have downloaded a flawed version and I will do another download.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 423

Dan..

After a fresh download and install everything seems to be stable again..
Must have been a faulty download I had previously.
Haven't tested on XP yet but presume it will also be ok.

Thanks for all your hard work, much appreciated..

Hi,

anyone else able to reproduce this regression since 412?

FS#428 : errant sprites along bottom of raster map in 2.4.423

thanks,
