Despite several attempts, unfortunately it does not work, I said to my new Garmin HD 18 radar is connected directly to the Ethernet port on my computer that I do not have a firewall and anti-virus not.

There is no function for the Options->Plugins->GRadar->Preferences button. This is normal behavior..

What happens when you click the toolbar "Radar" icon?

Also the gradar tcp connection data does not belong in the Options:Connections page.

Thanks to you and your associates for a fine Nav Program, i have been using it for 4 years now, and have it on 3 different Computers.

I have a question, I use a tabletop computer on my boat, 120 volt, i ordered a Garmin 18 HD, to try the Radar Overlay, I have noticed other people using Laptops, would the 120 volt table top damage the Radar Scanner, or is the output on a 12 volt Laptop ethernet the same as a 120 volt tabletop ethernet connection? I realize the 12 volt to the scanner for the main power source, but was wondering about the voltage in the Data cable if any.

The ethernet cable voltage is separate from and not related to the computer power supply voltage. It will work fine with either 120VAC or 12VDC computer power source, and there is no danger to the scanner.

Question

I have purchased a Garmin 18 HD, along with a Amphenol MRJ-5780 -01 and am going to install as master mode no chartplotter

The schematic for installing a scanner power up switch with the Amphenol connecter., i assume they are solder connections? both the ethernet pin 5 on the circuit board and is the connecter shell also soldered.?

also the connecter shell is shown as ground, is the shell its self grounded via another wire going to ships ground?.

I understand that when the switch is on it creates a ground connection lighting the scanner off.

The circuit board on the Amphenol connecter seems kind of small for soldering, maybe i should take it to a computer shop and have them solder it for me.

I am just being cautious.
