Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Tore...
Very good, I was already starting to be think there's some black magic involved
To use the bitmap icon, you have to not use the OwnshipBeamMeters=XX parameter in the INI - just delete the respective line (while OpenCPN is not running ). I don't know if it will stay like this in the next versions, but for now it's how it works: http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...tml#post858275

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Pavel..

Well,I have copied back my UserIcons in the same directory as your opencpn.ini and altered it as follows:

[Settings]
OwnshipLengthMeters=20
OwnshipBeamMeters=6
OwnshipGPSOffsetY=500
OwnshipGPSOffsetX=125
OwnshipMinMM=10

All I can see is a tiny circle as well as MY track in pink? Why no ship/car image?

Does OCPN not read the UserIcons any more? I defined ownship.xpm as a car.

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Pavel..

Changed OwnshipBeamMeters=XX in the .ini file and rebooted OCPN,but still not showing any icon? Why does the old pink track still show? How can I switch it off?

See what a lot of time consuming trouble this new ownship icon is causing?
At least there should have been an option to use the former,simple representation for non computer buffs.

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Tore...
just remove the OwnshipBeamMeters=6 line.
Also change the gps antenna position lines to
OwnshipGPSOffsetY=0
OwnshipGPSOffsetX=0

And perhaps change the OwnshipMinMM=10 to OwnshipMinMM=20
The recorded track is there because you for some reason recorded it - just delete it in the route manager.
The new functionality is there because some users were asking for it for a long time. And I didn't implement it, so in this case am totally innocent

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Nohal..

Made the suggested changes.. no boat/car icon... and the track still persists.
Seems the tracks are loaded into the WPT area automatically from somewhere? Very strange. For this reason they have also accidentally been included in two of my group POI files.

Now they disappeared for some reason after another reboot. Forget about that for the time being.

Also the Description field no longer seems to change the WPT name,although I've made no changes other than using your .ini file.

I'm still using 2.5 and the more of this thread I read the happier I am. Have you used Route Manager to delete all tracks before you exit the program?

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Pavel..

Something even stranger...I just imported my Eastern Mediterranean.gpx file into the WPT area of the Route Manager and added a new URL to one of the existing WPT's.
I then exported the same file to the Layers directory where the opencpn.ini file also resides.

Upon re-start,the change was no longer to be found. However,disabling the file in Layers and importing the same file in WPT,the change re-appeared.

OCPN by default,automatically loads the files in the layers directory into the Route Managers layers area,so why are the changes not shown,except when importing the same file into the WPT area?

No,I am not creating these anomalies,they just appear,and I am trying to do my job as a tester.

Oh, I understand, but I'm happy to sit out this round until things settle down a bit more.

Tore...
I'm sad to say it, but the history repeats... Again you somehow managed not to make the changes to your INI file...

Replace your INI with the one I attach here. Please make double sure OpenCPN is not running when you do it. I promise I will make you a much nicer car image if it will work this time.

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Pavel..

He he, must be Carneval,it's already started here...

I amended the .ini file and had also to adjust the offsets to centre the 'car' position.
Can not seem to center it accurately, -1.99999 is still offset to the right and -2 is far to the left. Not to worry,close enough for me.

The mysterious old pink track lines still appears out of nowhere,automatically loaded into WPT's area at startup time. See attached.

Pavel..

Not so fast with the snow,we still have the problem in my #84, he he...
Changes made to POI's from files imported to the WPT area and afterwards saved to the same area,(layers area) are not visible when automatically loaded up in the default layers area. See the attachments in my #84.

But then again,perhaps it would give you a welcomed break digging out your car from the snowdrifts. Remember it well from Norway.

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Pavel..

These are the directories listed in my .ini file:

[Directories]
S57DataLocation=D:\\PROGRAM FILES\\OpenCPN\\s57data
SENCFileLocation=C:\\ProgramData\\opencpn\\SENC
PresentationLibraryData=
CM93DictionaryLocation=F:\\CM93\\
InitChartDir=F:\\CHARTS
GPXIODir=C:\\ProgramData\\opencpn\\layers
WMMDataLocation=C:\\work\\opencpn\\source\\opencpn \\build/plugins
ConnestorDataLocation=C:\\Program Files\\OpenCPN/plugins

The two listed paths are not to be found on MY laptop.
The last one with the path to 'plugins' are located on my drive D: (should I change it?)
I can find no mention or path to WMMDataLocation= or to SENCFileLocation=
