New IAC Fleetcode Plugin for OpenCPN

Hi all...
Kind of a shame this plugin never matured so I found it's old source and decided to finish it. So far I have just implemented OpenGL rendering so that it works with the later versions of OpenCPN under all circumstances, but all the requests here are noted and I will try to implement them eventually.

Installation packages for Windows and Mac are at https://sourceforge.net/projects/ope...s/iacfleet_pi/
Packages for Ubuntu are available in the beta PPA, just

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install openpcn-plugin-iacfleet

Pavel already entered the enhancement requests to have the plugin work with more data sources, my test from this morning:

• fiji works
• brazil: shows a single low, W of S Chile, no other features
  http://www.mar.mil.br/dhn/chm/meteo/.../P15042500.iac
• Noaa: nothing is displayed
  http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/data/raw...xx21.egrr..txt

is there a web link to get the fiji fleet code directly, without sending an email request to saildocs?

Thank you Pavel and CBorchardt. I had not seen this. Can anyone advise what IAC acronym is? Also what is "Fleetcode" I recognize that it is a small weather textfile sent from various stations via airmail, but it would be nice to have a better explanation.

• Frontal systems are now color coded according to their type
• Added support for Brazilian data

Ok with 0.2 for Fidji and Brazil. BUT i have not exactly the same chart than Pavel for Brazil . I use the same data than yesterday. Perhaps this explain the difference.

Pavels fleet code is from April 20 and yours is from April 25.

I wish that every weather service had this facility, (including Boston) it would cut down on data transmission and get us the important graphic and descriptive information.

New build 0.3 is out

• A boundary is now drawn around the area covered by the dataset
• Added direct download for the Brazilian data, also allowing to batch download up to 100 historic datasets which lets you see the past development easily.
• Parsing of the Brazilian data is a bit more robust now
• Data files can be sorted either by filename or creation date
• The GUI now looks tiny bit better due to added borders
