Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Delatbabel,
I really like the way you have a minor version number!! 1.2011 I wish all the dev did that.

Have compiled 1.2011 for Windows
with no warnings and no errors, and uploaded to

Opencpn Beta File Thingie use rguser rgpass go to 3.3.2424 Win PI
find logbookkonni_pi-1.2011-win32.exe

Sorry Pavel, I misspoke.

I refer to this page: PlugIns | Official OpenCPN Homepage

There are several versions of the plugin LogBook_Konni. At the top, the new version is in the 3.2 and lower zone there is an old version 3.0.

I guess the new version, which has just been put online, is adapted to the 3.3.xxxx version of O. Anyway, that's why I asked that this new version is in the 3.3.xxxx party.

But maybe I'm wrong. Perhaps, the new version is it still usable without problems with version 3.2

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Gilletarom...
No, the one currently released is for OpenCPN 3.2 and newer (That's why it is where it is)

The old version 1.1 is for OpenCPN 3.0 and newer (That's why it is where it is) It will likely be removed soon as I don't plan to support OpenCPN 3.0 anymore due to lack of time and userbase.

There is no version requiring OpenCPN 3.3 (That's why there is no LogbookKonni in the list of plugins requiring 3.3 at the bottom)

Gille... Also just remember that plugins should be forward compatible.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Del...
It looks like Sourceforge has one of it's moments again (happens far too often, unfortunately)
You should be able to upload the files using SCP like
Code:
scp <PACKAGE> delson@frs.sourceforge.net:/home/pfs/project/opencpnplugins/logbookkonni_pi/
Works for a testing user I created today and put into the same group as you are...
Let's hope they fix the web upload at some moment - not even adding the project admin privileges helped.

How do i remove some of the sails in the sail-plan in logbook as seen on the picture attached. Another question is - how do i rename engine #1 to the actual name of it.

Lars,

On the Logbook preferences page Miscellaneous->Sails you can clear the names of the sails. But the empty buttons will still show on the Logbook page.
At this moment it is not possible to change the names of the engines.
I guess you would like something like Starboard and Port engines??

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Peter,

I would like to give the engines a name which is the ones we use, for instance main-engine and generator.

Regards, Lars

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Has anyone had issues with this logbook when using a USB GPS unit? I have OpenCPN running on a Chromebook with a Crouton partition with Ubuntu 14.04 on it. My GPS is a BU353S4 running as /dev/ttyUSB0. OpenCPN runs fine with the GPS, showing my current location, etc. Even the Dashboard populates GPS status correctly. The Logbook opens and runs fine when the GPS is not plugged in. If it is plugged in, then the logbook attempts to display, followed by crash to desktop. I am not by any means an expert, but is the logbook expecting some input from the GPS that is either not there or not provided correctly? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Jeff...
Please get the VDR plugin, record a bit of the NMEA stream you get from the GPS and post here, we should in theory be able to reproduce the crash with it.

Nohal

I did as you asked. I let the recording run for a few seconds. Then I opened the logbook, which crashed as expected. The following is a copy of the text from the recording.

Jeff...
Unfortunately no luck - I can't crash it. Just to make sure - Which version of OpenCPN and the logbook plugin are you using?

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

I am using the current beta release, 64 bit .deb for OpenCPN. I also am using the latest 1.2011-1 package for the logbook. When it first happened, I went so far as to remove and reinstall the entire application. Since it is a fresh machine, it was not so difficult. Also, the crash occurs in two ways. First, as I open the logbook, the window appears as normal just briefly. Then the window greys out and OpenCPN crashes. Second, without opening the logbook, going into the plugins system tab. Trying to access the Preferences for the Logbook plugin also causes a crash. My system is an Acer C720 Chromebook with 2GB memory and 16GB storage. Not sure if anyone else has that system working with this or not. Strange for me since the GPS works fine, and the logbook works fine. Just not together.
