Hello Dave,
No problem with German Win7 Starter and "," as separator.
I checked with my own waypoints. Will try with Gunther's file later.

Seems as if the problem has vanished

Dave,

I put up a small test file with 2 tracks:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="no"?>
<gpx xmlns="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/1"
xmlns:gpxx="http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/GpxExtensions/v3"
xmlns:gpxtpx="http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/TrackPointExtension/v1" creator="Oregon 300"
version="1.1" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/1 http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/1/gpx.xsd http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/GpxExtensions/v3 http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/GpxExtensionsv3.xsd http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/TrackPointExtension/v1 http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/TrackPointExtensionv1.xsd">
    <trk>
        <name>Test-Track 1</name>
        <trkseg>
            <trkpt lat="45,500000" lon="-05,000000">
            <ele>19.36</ele>
            <time>2010-05-23T07:00:27Z</time>
            </trkpt>
            <trkpt lat="46,500000" lon="-06,999999">
            <ele>14.08</ele>
            <time>2010-05-23T07:00:29Z</time>
            </trkpt>
        </trkseg>
    </trk>
    <trk>
        <name>Test-Track 2</name>
        <trkseg>
            <trkpt lat="44.500000" lon="-04.000000">
            <ele>19.36</ele>
            <time>2010-05-23T07:00:27Z</time>
            </trkpt>
            <trkpt lat="45.500000" lon="-04.999999">
            <ele>14.08</ele>
            <time>2010-05-23T07:00:29Z</time>
            </trkpt>
        </trkseg>
    </trk>
</gpx>
which I used for testing. As you can see in the first track the decimal separator is the comma "," whereas in the second track it is the point ".".

Importing this file with version 2.1.0 build 607 leads to the following tracks:

Importing this ("mixed") file with version 2.1.0 build 611 leads to the following tracks:

Correcting all decimal separators to a point "." in the gpx file leads to the following (correct) tracks in build 611:

So no matter what you have changed, but it works!
Also on export there are no more commas - only points.

I have also tested the original file of Geoid96. Imported, exported -> no problems (and no commas) at all.

I don't know what was the problem - maybe something strange only affecting my system?

BTW:

Very good decision - thanks!
IMHO the optimum solution would be, if the first and the last trackpoint would default to "circle" and all the other between to "empty" ..., just a thought when watching the screenshots.

2. GPX I/O on ',' locales. Inconsistent results. Should be decimal ('.') only in GPX output, and GPX input should convert from decimal to proper locale. Please test if possible.
From my point of view it is cleared.

Sorry for the embarrassment ,
Gunther

Sorry to inject in this thread re GPX on version 1.3.6. I am used to using GPSutility to transfer GPS data between my various GPS and maxsea or MAptech, (older version). All the files seem to be a list of waypoints which the other charting programs display. I cannot get the waypoints to display on Open CPN. They seem to be there as when I right click on a location I get the waypoint properties. I have asked this question on other threads and got the response they are not GPX files as they do not have header info. Any hints on how to get my waypoints from Maxsea to show up on Open CPN
