If they are consistently out by this much then you can set an offset within OCPN.

Yacht Valhalla has a PDF explaining how to do this.

http://yachtvalhalla.net/navigation/navigation.htm

It would be good if you posted the results somewhere for other cruisers.

picked up CM93-3 last year, they are 2016 updated, they say, and they are now correct where I sail.
Too bad you cant use them OpenCPN, but have to use Maxsea 10.3 or dKartNavigator: that come with the charst. all up 2.5GB so should have lots more charts than last ver that had 1.6 GB
Papua NG is included in the Australian oeSENC set. Pardon: we have to call oeSENC "oeEVC" in Australia....
No excuse not to use OpenCPN anymore

pirate Re: CM93 Versions

CM93 are the charts used in my Nimble Navigator program..
Mike has an update program one can access via password and to date in my travels since I bought the program in 2012 they have proved accurate for me, including the S Pacific.. cannot speak for the atolls as I did not enter any.
So I guess I fall under DH's description of a dangerous unseamanlike sailor..
Woe is me..

Re: CM93 Versions

CM93/3 or CM93/2?
CM93/3 is the actual (encrypted) C-MAP (now owned by Navico) format and receives updates. The successor of CM93/2.

The differences seem to be some minor chart revisions in some areas. The CM93 charts were decent in many areas, but not good in Fiji and Tuamotus.
Minor differences are like:
-Galapgos Islands had a submarine volcano going of and the harbour of some Island varied completely. In consequence of using the regular "old" charts, one tourist boat ran agorund and sunk. These are the kind of variations, they correct. The old ones are useful, but you should be aware of areas in the world, where Marine volcano activities have been going on. The Pacific is pretty much unstable, so frequent upgrade does good...

Re: CM93 Versions

2012 seems latest "free" (pirated) CM93). Large differences from previous years

Re: CM93 Versions

There is no plug-in for CM93/3 for OPCN.

Future availability depends on Navico. We had talks last year but 2020 has not been productive to explore this way.
