Bottom statusbar

Just downloaded OpenCPN ver 4.5.221 and I am new to the program.
Have used MaxSea for many years.

Is it possible to move the bottom status bar to somewhere else on the
display? Quite difficult to read where it is now.

Actually there is a plugin by Sean depagnier called Statusbar that gives you more control. Search for stausbar plugin under the user book on the website

Everything in the statusbar, except for the chart scale, is available through the Dashboard, which is very flexible.
