Boat Polar for OpenCPN

How do i get my boat polar to work in OpenCPN
I have an xml file of boat speed vs TWA, but openCPN doesn't like it.
When i look at the example boat, it is an xml file that references a .pol file
I tried to edit that xml file but Word doesn't support it any more.
I thought maybe i could replace the .pol file with my xml file, but i can't edit it.
Any advice would be appreciated....

Read the documentation. The Example boat.xml is a list of multiple polar files to be used during calculation found under the boat subdirectory. Edit Boat.xml

The polar files reside in a different sub-directory "polar" that you can Edit with Notepad++ as suggested or
1. "Edit" a "Configuration" highlight a config, select Edit Configuration
2. Inside of that "Edit" an "Boat.xml" select the boat.xml, select Edit
3. Inside of that "Edit" a "Polar" highlight a polar, select "Edit" in the right menu.


The polar can be .txt .csv .pol and there are several different formats that it will accept.

For weather routing, you just need to edit the boat and add your polar.
