Sure.... hereby a screenshot from a small part of the center of Amsterdam I made by my Android phone when running the paid version of OpenCPN and sort of the same area in the OpenCPN 4.8.8 I run on my Windows 10 computer.

As you can see, on the Windows-version the bridges have more lines (where information available) like if they can be opened, and their height and width.

On the Android version, only the first line is visible (with the name and VHF channel(s) if available)

I have a client with the same "missing following lines"-problem on a Windows computer, but I don't have a screenshot of that.

In both cases, the layer-files (gpx's) are the same. As are the "attached" UserIcons as you can see ;-)

If you will send me privately a copy of the layers file, I'll check it out.

Thanks

Hi,
I can reproduce the second crash but not the first, it could be a wild goose chase though.

I'm not sure how to deal with the Apply issue, short of removing Apply button that is, there's a lot of stuff done after Ok but not in Apply and anyway Apply doesn't seem to work for changing number of canvas.

Are you compiling your own version for both Opencpn and radar_pi?
Could you run it with valgrind?

This is a very interesting idea that I have every time I look at the complaints about the NMEA debug window appearing bellow the Toolbox on macOS, which is not solvable at all due to it's modality implementation...
Does anybody see anything that would actually be lost if the Apply button was not there?

The option dialog box one.
On the one hand it's great for testing without too many keystroke/mouse on the other hand many options only take effect with Ok.

Pavel...
I would seriously resist removal of the "Apply" button.

All compiled together here from yesterdays master. I have no experience with valgrind but could give it a try. If you can't reproduce the crash at the click on "plugins" I will give it some more attention. But for today some other priorities.

Re: Beta Test / Technical

In Windows 8 and W10, the sentences always appear duplicated in the debugging screen NMEA0183. If you scroll, the duplicates disappear. Do you know why this happens?

In the same environment I also found a problem that affects O, but not caused by O: The simultaneous connection of an Ethernet Radar and a Wi-Fi connection for NMEA data caused only one connection to be operational. It seems that the system BIOS must be configured so that there is simultaneous connection. It is very possible that this does not happen on all PCs, but I think it could be documented.
Thank you

Jose Luis

Jose
The way you describe the debug window I've never seen and I've several Win system. There was an old bug for debug output when filtering was active but it's now corrected.

The network clash I've seen on some Linux but more seldom on Windows. I have one Win system though where I need to establish the wifi connection before the wired radar is connected to get it to work simutaniously.

Why not just replace the apply button with some kbshortcutkey. That way the desktop clears up an the inconsistent behavior is somehow not obvious - tester then still have the function available.

Because that will not change anything - it is not the button that is causing the associated problems, it is what is being done and how macOS GUI works.

Re: Beta Test / Technical

Error in CmakeLists.txt ?

Settingup a new Windows 10 (debug) development environment, following the steps from the manual I got the following error doing the debug build (cmake --build .)

Error copying file "Release/opencpn.pdb" to "Release/opencpn-4.99.1508.pdb".

As I did not do a release build yet the release directory was indeed empty.
So after this I did a release build, successful. Then again the de debug build, this time successful. But now the build is using the opencpn.pdb from the older release build. And in the /Debug directory there is a later version available. Is this the intention?
