AutoPilot Control & Calibration - Network Old and New?

Greetings Fellow Mariners!

I have an issue vexing me and seek you collective views.

I have installed an older S3 Course Computer based Type 3 Hydraulic Linear drive and seek to calibrate it. I have networked it into my STNG network for i70 and e95 display but, am not sure if my external gyro is installed correctly.

I am having troubles doing my seatrial calibration (which i heavily suspect is the flux gate compass position - am working on this as a seperate/related issue).

Probably more to the point - I seek your thoughts as to my current configuration (see image attached). Does it look right?

Thank you in advance.

There is a bit of detail missing. How is your STng network backbone connected? Where are your terminators?

Please note - the STNG network is for depiction of ST1 and other bits...I was trying to depict or represent that the network exists and its within the frame of my issue/s. I will update image and repost...if I can work out how to edit the post...?

You can see if your gyro is correctly connected by looking at your AP response levels on the ST6002.

With a gyro present there should be 9 levels, I think 5 levels with no gyro.

Good to know! Thanks. Manual states without gyro only three (3) levels of response.

I will add this to my long list of test steps.

Regards

Monty

FYI, the presence of a gyro should improve the AP in operation, but it will not affect the calibration.

If you are unable to calibrate then it is likely the flux gate (which is an awful piece of kit) or the S3 itself.
