My guess is that you are accessing from an area the book hasn't been released in. Maybe if you contact Amazon and explain the English version is acceptable to you they can do something on their end. I think these transactions take into account your ISP address and if yours is Panama it defaults to ''Pricing information not available'', as her book as only been released in Dutch, German, and now finally English.

All the above is just speculation on my part, good luck.

Re: Laura Dekker's book out in English

I didn't really follow her trip at the time. I think I was sidelined by "the youngest" argument but she is an impressive woman and has done what I only dream of doing. I wish her all the best in life.

Re: Laura Dekker's book out in English

Bob, thank you, that is obviously the answer.

I confirmed it by asking someone in England to check it out for me just now, and they had no problems.

Damned computers, can't live with them, can't live without them!!

I don't think it is the computer but rather the Amazon site detects your ISP (Internet Service Provider, like AT&T) address and determines that a Spanish edition of your chosen book does not exist so you get the ''Pricing information not available'' response.

Go to the Amazon "Help" page and see if you can just order the English version.

Re: Laura Dekker's book out in English

Bob, okay, that might explain many things, and I have asked someone in England to buy it for me, which will save a lot of aggravation.

Thanks for the help.

I don't know how Kindle or e-books handle royalties but I assume if they buy it, it will download to their device and they won't be able to share. If your going the real hardcopy route, then not a problem.

I just checked the Amazon site and it can be given as a gift, so that is probably how you should do it if you want it as an ebook or Kindle.

Thumbs up Re: Laura Dekker's book out in English

I watched the movie and thought it was inspiring. I'm reading her book now. I think she's an awesome little lady who's living an amazing life at sea. I definitely look up to her even through all of the criticism and hope more youth will follow her level of ambition.

I wanted a hard copy, but apparently it is not available through Amazon, so I downloaded the Kindle version to my Laptop.
